lost in the garden…

The following contains absolutely no adventure, there is purpose but no goal, and no transparency was required. The following is only a representation of me recently completing the reading of the book ‘The Garden of Forking Paths’ by Jorge Luis Borges… In writing this intro I also happen to be utilising the prompts, adventure, goal and transparency, all because of how talented I am… Now do enjoy, “lost in the garden”

lost in the garden

i can’t navigate this garden
with every path diverting to a secret place
somewhere before me
with every step devoured by time…
i can’t digest this situation encompassing me
as time collecting thoughts
placing reason in a package
to be shipped off to a place
a strange place
a city
never chronicled in any encyclopedia
… and every history is devouring me
taking me back to a garden
without any introduction
without any plot
and i’m told that this novel exists
that the protagonist is me
and myself is featured is every edition
self trying to translate these ruins before me
in dreams
in secrets
in mystical things and circular formations
and spirits
and powers
and something indistinguishable that encompasses reverence and holiness…
oh, can i escape this garden?
these paths that now divert to an uncircumcised being
who can never pen any novel
never a masterpiece
never a best seller
only a symbol and a red tattoo and wealth stored in libraries engulfing a world
and then, leaving me to digress then divert to a secret place
in this void before me
with every step devoured in time
with any aspect of my mind
lost in my own labyrinth…

Clever use of the prompts. Looks like an interesting read.

Yes a sort of speculative fiction, it’s a compilation of short stories, the garden of forking paths is actually the title of the last…
